No, those are prevalent from Pasadena TX all the way thru LA on US77 to I-10. They’re red in color and crawl on your sandaled foot in an outdoor cafe/bar and then fly up to meet you and your drink! They’re almost as big as a dime (bigger with the wingspan). The locals don’t pay them any mind. They’re used to ’em.
