The unemployment news of major employers is headline news and easy to find. The signs of employment will always be harder to see as they are found in the entrepreneurial start ups in small office parks throughout the region.
SD has never been a place where large companies relocate to (OK there are a couple that have but very few). SD is an incubator of ideas and small companies. When they reach critical mass they get acquired and taken elsewhere. Its been that way as long as I can remember.
