Its not a trick. Try to find a house you love close to your price range and let me know when you do. I’ve been doing this long enough to know how hard it really is unless you have very low expectations. Sure there will be more than one but at the bottom there will be more than one buyer for that one also.
Also all the advice from RE agents was not very wrong the last 5 years. The agents around this board have been telling sellers to sell sooner than later as prices are falling and will continue to do so as well as telling buyers to be patient and wait for what they want at a price that makes sense to them.
