It’s actually funny to joke about this stuff because none of us have a clue what could happen, nor have we ever experienced anything like it. If hyper-inflation takes control of society without any sort of drastic banking meltdown, I would assume things could essentially unfold slowly. Of course if we did have terrorist attack on the US, it could be devastating. Keep in mind Al-Qaida would love to see us as the next Roman Empire, so I am sure their architects are behind the drawing boards as we speak.
I also thought of some other interesting scenarios of how the system could really meltdown in a short period of time. What happens if the credit card crisis shuts down the ability to use a Visa or MC? I guess somewhat of a far fetched question, but society could not function without the use of credit cards. Many pile debt on debt, so for them, there isn’t money to draw out the banks.
Veritas is right if system fails you need a plan, not with one person, but many. Doesn’t matter how big an arsenal is, there is always a bigger one out there. The bummer for San Diegans is that Mexico really isn’t an option as an escape route. Canada would be much more of a viable option as long as you you had a warm winter coat.
On another note a buddy of mine last night watched CVS in 4S Ranch get robbed in the early evening (good thing he was able to get the license plate of the robbers). Maybe criminals are going to start pursuing the nicer neighborhoods because that is where the money is. Makes sense!
