About a woman who was raped, had the baby, then had the rapist sue for parental rights.
Yep… that is seriously messed up.
She became a lawyer to fight against rapist’s having parental rights.
In a paper she wrote (linked in the article) she cites studies that show alarming statistics on how many women over age 18 have been raped. It’s one in 12.
And from that pool – almost 5% got pregnant from the rape.
The two studies that looked at this do not include rapes of minors… so the statuatory rape not being “legitimate” rape thing is not relevant in these statistics.
