I’m sure they are ticketing more and collecting more revenue for the city. Times are tough and people are always breaking traffic laws in one way or another. Easy money to collect from people.
I’ve noticed more cops around my neck of the woods. And if it’s a motorcycle cop, forget it. You’re getting a ticket if you get pulled over.
If the “emergency vehicle” didn’t have it’s emergency lights on, then I don’t see the merit in the ticket you got. They are supposed to follow the rules and wait their turn like everyone else. Of course, if they had their lights on and you didn’t give “right away”, then you’re screwed.

I’ll add that instead of putting in speed bumps every ten feet on every damn block, the cops should just enforce the damn law.
