If you are really a treehugger, consider a plug-in. We have the Nissan Leaf and cram our 4-person family plus dog in there just fine. Yes it is cozy but with the solar panels on the roof of our house, we are not burning any oil or gas to get anywhere (aside from materials used to build the car). And it is so awesome to NEVER visit a gas station!
