If I were in your situation, I’d get a condo closer to the ocean. You can get a nice 1-bedroom condo in UTC west of the 5 for 300K or less. A house in SEH is way too much for a single person. It’s really a family area, for families with kids.
If you foresee changes in your situation in the next few years (meeting someone else and raising children again), maybe you shouldn’t buy at all, rent instead.
