My wife was on my case all the time about buying back in 2006, but I showed her the light. Now we both go browsing, just to check out different neighborhoods and floorplans. That way we’ll be much better prepared when we do buy. Think of it as research.
At the open house, I’ve learned to never tell the agent “we’re waiting for the market to come down a little more,” because you’ll then get the condescending “now is the time” speech and have to stand there and either defend your position or nod stupidly while they spew propaganda. Better to just say you’re not serious yet, then they leave you alone.
