I won’t be able to retire for 10 years but would like to buy during a dip rather then wait 10 years and not be able to afford it. I think 25% off the peak may be enough, as I said haven’t kept up with prices in S. Cal. I would like to be say within 20 miles or the coast or at least not very hot if there is a local cool spot. I heard that Temecula has a nice microclimate for wine and is cheap but don’t know if that’s ocean influenced or not. Basically I want to grow bananas and stuff like that, warm weather but not hot and dry like that desert. I also lived in the high desert as a child (near San Bernardino) and don’t want to be that hot in my dotage.
