I thought the consensus amongst most real estate experts/economists and such was that the peak was around Dec. 2006. Yes, properties were selling in 2007, but I don’t think they were selling for higher than the 2006 price. The same price, I can believe, but not higher. Generally speaking and I’m not talking about exclusive areas.
In my eyes, if prices continued to go up from the sale the previous year, then it’s still climbing up the peak. I think the declines started in 2007 – and that’s from the 2006 price. I’m not saying that 2007 did not have a sale that was over the 2004 price, for example. Does that make sense?
sdr – I know you’re not trying to sell me. I’d be your worst nightmare client and you value your time too much to take on a buyer such as myself. I don’t think any realtor out there would want to have to deal w/me. Which is why I’m doing all the work myself.
I am confident I will find a place. Offers I’ve made in the past were not accepted and it is frustrating, but I am very happy where I’m renting. Ideally, it would be a place I own. That is the ultimate goal. But only if it makes sense.
