I think the problem might be the liquor lobby. They do not want the competition. There would always be those that consider it a gateway drug. It is not like beer is a gateway to whiskey or expensive champagne. I am ambivalent about it and actually voted for medical marijuana, but I do not think it has been handled appropriately in Ca. The government is running out of things to tax. The money we earn is taxed and then it is taxed again upon our death. Death and taxes, nothing new there.
