I love San Diego, I love the surf culture, and the laid back attitudes. I feel that San Diego is one of the more friendly places I’ve ever been. It is the only place where you stand in line and it seems like you always end up having conversation with someone.
Compared to a lot of cities, there aren’t as many chains restaurants here. While I admit the public transportation is lacking, and the amount of 4X4 trucks with monster wheels and some tool at the wheel is large, there are a ton of great things about San Diego.
My wife has always jogged for a hobby, maybe run a 5k, but out here, she’s running half/full marathons all over the place. We kayak, surf, bike, she rides horses, this place is great for that.
There are a lot of in shape people here, it seems like people like to take care of themselves. Which is awesome.
If you are a girl that lives in San Diego, you are lucky, there ARE a lot of guys out here. The good thing for women is that a lot of them work out. Which is a good thing.
There is nothing wrong with whitening your teeth, or working out to be in shape, it is part of the culture here. Get out on a bike, enjoy the views, smell the cool ocean breeze and the warmth of the sun on your back, San Diego is a place you have to be outside to enjoy.
Not in an art gallery, tea shop or book store. Take that coffee to the beach, or that book, and start enjoying life. You might be surprised to see other people doing the same thing, my wife and I love taking our chairs to the beach, covering up in blankets and reading. Her friends do to, who wants to be cooped up inside if it’s beautiful outside?
When I lived in PB, I didn’t like the bars, or any of the parties, my wife and I would get up early on a Sunday, go to the local coffee shop, (not starbucks!! WHAT?) and go sit on the beach wall and enjoy sitting there talking to each other and watching the waves.
I guess watching the waves makes me not much of an intellectual, but I bet I’m 100X happier than you are.
