I looked at a house recently in… Kearny Mesa I think, where the copper pipes had been ripped out, and one of the bathtubs(!) had been removed. Interestingly, there were a couple of nice light fixtures that were untouched.
It’s one thing to read about it, but it really is another thing to actually stand inside a house that has been gutted and experience it first-hand.
