I like your idea, Kewp, but like partypup said, they are not interested in letting the starving masses come out of this intact.
It seems the entire purpose of the PTB’s efforts have been to unleash massive amounts of freshly-printed money onto the banking class.
Just before the dollar collapses, I imagine these captains of industry will be well invested in something other than the dollar. What that may be is totally unknown, but I am looking at other ways to diversify out of the dollar, too.
