I know an excellent roofer. His name is Tim Yanitor, and his company is T.C. Enterprises, tel # 619-920-8000. He’s a “general building contractor specializing in roofing” according to his business card. His address is in Spring Valley but he works all over the county (we’re no. county coastal).
I don’t know what Tim charged our General Contractor to do our roof because we were on a fixed price contract w/the GC (but that also means that Tim probably was the low bidder). I know that Tim is our GC’s first pick for roofers as long as price is right.
Tim stands out as one of the most pleasant and professional subs who built our house. He had a great crew, cleaned up the job site every day, and was very accommodating. Our job was a little complicated because our architect had designed various hip roofs that were a little tricky, but Tim was way into doing it right even though it took a day or so longer than he predicted. He was a good communicator and totally professional. He worked with one other guy who had been with him for awhile. Both were incredibly hard workers in tough, brutally hot conditions but always had a great attitude and really took pride in what they did.
Our roof looks great and has held up fine so far (although it’s been a little less than a year).
Good luck!
EDIT – Sorry, I got a little carried away…I just re-read and realized you were just looking for a rough idea of cost, not a name. Tim’s the kind of guy who would probably give you a ballpark estimate on the phone if you call him.
