I don’t think so. On the contrary, quite a few of people prefer single story. It “lives” more spacious than 2 story which waste more space with stairs and hallways. I like the layouts for single story better.
Now, of course, age and the upgrades and shape the house is in will matter. Often enough single story are older. But more people will reject a house based on age than on 1 vs 2 story per se.
