I don’t know why they didn’t think of bicycles, mopeds or scooters before resorting to animal power. Even at $10 per gallon, with a moped or scooter getting 100+ MPG, a 10 mile ride to school costs only a buck. I think a veterinarian’s bill for the animal can set them off badly in comparison!
