I assume you’re saying you’re killing that many black widows outside the house, correct? If they are inside, I think it’s a no brainer that you have a big problem.
We have somewhat of a controlled black widow issue. My husband goes out with a blow torch and kills 3-4 every 3-4 months. So it’s fairly contained and there has never been one in the house. They also never come out during the day; they hide. I know their webs at this point so I can spot them, see the problem and tell my husband it’s blow torch time. I’ve never been able to see one during the day and I’ve really tried. Teach your kids to identify the web, the spider, the egg, and to not put their fingers into cracks where they hide.
If you continue killing them yourself, I highly recommend the blow torch! It works flawlessly, you don’t have to get too close, and you can kill the egg sacs easily too.
As for termites, we are on the “plan” for that but I have mixed feelings about it. Also as for tenting, that doesn’t kill subterranean termites which we have had. And by the way, for everyone with your nice, new, expensive wood floors, that’s where we got the subterranean suckers. We put down wood flooring in about 1/2 of our house and I’ll never put it in another room.
