I asked the builder (buying a new home) if solar panel would be allowed. The rep says that it would be up to the HOA but based on her experience, HOA will usually say “NO”, citing that it would be an eyesore and a disruption of the consistency of the community’s image.
It’s sad to see that even though everyone knows that we have a pending energy crisis, aesthetic is still valued over practicality.
