I am not sure what would happen. As you know part of the process is to get your prints. If you do not have any outstanding warrants, and if you are not a deadbeat dad or something like that you should be okay. I do not recall the requirements about previous convictions.
If you do not try you will never know. Part of getting back into the world is to cope with the ramifications of your past.
