I also think that while many people are environmentally conscious and want to do things that are good for the environment, they’re afraid of environmental extremism and the loss of certain freedoms.
As always, the extremes are what frighten people; otherwise, I think Ron Paul might have had a much better chance of becoming president. He makes a lot of sense on certain issues, but tends to be rather rigid and extreme regarding things that border on becoming “fringe.”
