How about you point me to a $27 an hour cash job, or even a $20 an hour job? I know about a dozen people who would be very interested. My wife is currently unemployed and she’s having trouble finding anything. Job openings in 10-15/hour range sometimes draw a hundred applicants per opening.
You really need to look at it from the national perspective. California DOES have a problem with excessive prison spending, because it’s #1 in the country by spending per prisoner, separately in healthcare and non-healthcare categories. California DOES NOT have a problem with excessive K-12 spending, because it’s something like #43 in the country per K-12 student.
