Hmmm. Urban theory and Urban planning – they sound like interesting topics and I’m sure they are stimulating to read, think and talk about.
Every now and then as I read the papers I’ll come across an article that mentions some of the ideas you’re talking about. I remember reading about downtown Santa Ana (mabe a decade ago ?) that talked about how they were trying to create an artists colony or a place for yuppies (hate to use old terminology) to live and work within walking distances. I think I saw another article recently about downtown Riverside or maybe some place near UCR about trying to create another place for people to live and work within walking distances.
It sounds like a good idea and a good goal.
Doing something for the common good is noble. And you get paid for it. Not bad 🙂
