Nearest I can tell there are two condo developments (Cortina and Bellarado) and one apartment complex in here. The Cortina units and Bellarado units are mixed in together into row home looking things w/ front stoops and garage alleyways.
Our unit is a Bellarado “townhome”. We’re just renters so I can’t speak to it being a good value to buy, but as a ‘hood in general I’m surprisingly liking it. I used to hate condo life due to thin walls and party animals. This place is well made, it’s got a laundry room and a HUGE storage unit in the garage – think of each unit as having three levels. Level one is garage, laundry room and storage unit, level two is living space and level three is bedrooms. I’m also all about having everything “new” these days because I’m sick of repair people having to come fix the old stuff at our other rentals. A/C unit is a dream, things look cleaner because they’re new and easy to maintain.
Living next to the Albertson’s shopping center is amazing…We can literally walk to the grocery store and other shops. There is also a good pizza/Italian place. Our other rentals in Scripps Ranch required a schlep to the stores – I’m getting spoiled living this close to the grocery store.
The complex is very pet friendly, we’ve only been here a few weeks and met lots of pet people, who seem very intent on cleaning up after their dogs – something we’re not used to but very grateful for.
We live here w/ our two dogs and 13 year old daughter. I’m still surprised that I like it so much, I’d been dreading going back to sharing walls but it’s oddly comforting and not at all like living in a hotel where you hear every sound your neighbor makes.
Oh, and almost forgot to mention, these builders or the building codes now take fire safety VERY seriously….There are fire sprinklers in every room, including the garage/storage area. The last townhome we lived in was built in 1993 so I guess things have come a long way in 16 years.
There are parks around as you head towards Santa Luz and RSF. The location near the 56 has made shooting to Poway for Target wonderful.
I believe your son would go to Willow Grove Elementary – a brand spanking new Poway Unified school over in Santa Luz next to one of the parks I mentioned.
Like I said, can’t speak to buying, but we love it here…Any questions, let me know.
