Having owned Real Estate (even fairly recently) in Maryland I can safely say the entire DC region has experienced a housing bubble as well except for one big difference:
There are plenty of good jobs available in the DC area and unemployment is generally low.
Along the 270 corridor the unemployment rate was around 5% through Feb 2009.
The housing “bubble” is generally still intact around the DC region.
If I lost my job in San Diego – I’m going back to Maryland to stay.
