golfgal – you make some very good and compelling arguments. I have to say that for marion, I’m sure there are some solid reasons for your divorce, nevertheless, religion is against it for the most part. And that’s why I have trouble w/the double standards, the hypocracy, etc.
I am very conservative financially. I am not so liberal that I think we should give hand-outs to the poor. But when it comes to certain social issues, I just wish the government would stay out of it.
Although not my sexual orientation, I think the right to marriage should be allowed. It will not affect me personally. As I said, there are gay couples out there that have outlasted many heterosexual marriages that I know.
