FYI not sure what you are living in and what part of carlsbad but i just helped someone search for a rental house in south carlsbad. nothing on the market and rents are silly high. A 3BR 1100 sq ft apartment at alicante views was close to 1900 with a garage. We ended up jumping at 1900 sq ft house 3/2/2 for $1950 owned by a long term landlord who owes very little. If you are in south carlsbad you are doing much better than you think.
