There’s a long history in this country (and in plenty of other countries) of using fear and hate for political gain. Seems to me that it’s worse now than it was 20-30 years ago, but I’m pretty sure it was far worse at previous times. (When the Irish came due to the potato famine for instance)
Despite it’s long history, I have to agree that it’s pretty awful the way this fear mongering has came back in style.
