I agree with burghMan. They may have spent your deposit and not have it to return to you. By law, they need to keep it in “trust” and separate from their own funds. But they are most like too dumb to know this or care.
I don’t believe you can file a “Request for Notice” on this property unless you are a party to the deed.
I am glad to hear that you will view a property today with a legitimate property manager.
