Like it or not, neither was perceived as a potential winner, much the same way that Alan Keyes is not perceived as a winner by the Republicans. Nothing to do with either love, or Christian Love, but the calculus of taking the White House.
No, on the question of exalting blacks versus nigger lover. It does not, and should not. Rather it means embracing a cause, ideology or issue without being willing to subject it to question or scrutiny.
