. . . I agree Mt Helix (the actual mountain) is isolated in a certain sense but overall the La Mesa area is much closer to the cultural points of interest of San Diego than NCC.
Agreed DZ. LM Village is =<13 miles from dtn SD. Every amenity (except the ocean) is present there. Both of those properties have views of the ocean.
I just looked at the photos of the first one again (designed by architect around the 2/3 AC lot). That is one fabulous home with great bones. I am seeing the OB pier and a blue ocean sliver on the horizon from the view window (15-16 miles away). The design is just stupendous. The interior wood, rock and beams makes one feel like they are living in Tahoe or the rocky mtns! A very casual, yet classy feel. In spite of potential septic issues, I so wish I was in a position to be a buyer today! This is a property I could die in.
Mt Helix has many of the finest quality (and reinforced) custom homes in the county built on it, on BOTH sides. The majority are designed by local architects because the lots tend to be irregular, often sloping and may have other challenges. It is really is a submarket all its own.
Again, love the pictures. What do you think, deadzone? Would you place an offer on either of these two properties?
