My hood – UC as an example. South UC (south of Rose Canyon, north of 52, between 5 and 805) is mostly older (1960’s) single family homes. North UC, aka UTC, is mostly condo’s, business, and shopping. Demographically – they’re not the same. But we share a fire station, high school and middle school, community planning group, etc.

I would suggest a Border Check point at train tracks in the valley between UTC and UC to keep those undesirable, mall shoppers, UCSD students, and Clairemont commuters from passing through your beloved UC! 😛
