Calavera has never done it for me. It is in the northeast corner of Carlsbad and just doesn’t have the feel that the southern parts of Carlsbad have. Also, I suspect that you would do much of your shopping in areas overlapping with some not so nice parts of Oceanside. Its also not that much cheaper. All in all, I’d rather be in the Southern part of Carlsbad, and idealy even in the San Deguito school district.
