bsrsharma – thanks for the info. perhaps i should have started a new thread on portland! yes, our thoughts are to rent for at least a year to get a feel for the area and where we want to be and also to watch how this all unfolds. seeing all of the listings that appear to be flops, i think we will be able to get a deal on something if we are patient. we really like the idea of being close to downtown (for work reasons and we just like the urban vibe), so we were thinking about some of the west hills neighborhoods. schools are important to us as we have young children, and from what i have read online there are some good schools up there? why do you prefer lake oswego? i am just getting started on our research (we will be transferring up there within the next six months) and appreciate any insight.
one more question, should we change our california plates out as quickly as possible? i keep reading about how everyone in portland and oregon in general hates californians moving in!
