Why do you think that more of White middle class was seduced by the Republican and Tea Party?
That’s a fascinating sociological phenomenon.
For example, why do you think that people are attracted to Sarah Palin and Christine O’Donnell and hate Hillary Clinton so much?
Aside from her progressive politics which conservatives might take issue with, Hillary has been a irreproachable lady. She stood by her husband in a time of scandal as any well-bred conservative wife would.
So Hillary is the model of good personal behavior and the conservatives hate her. And they want to return to the social norms of the 1950s?[/quote]
Your raise an interesting point Brian.
I think when Rick Santelli made his rant on the trading floor – liberals and conservatives alike could relate. We were tired of seeing tax dollars go to bail out large financial institutions. That was the impetus of the tea party.
But somewhere along the way that got distorted into something else – fear of immigration, social issues like anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage, gun rights, the whole 14th amendment thing…
I agree with you about Secretary Clinton. I never understood how family values folks despised her when she chose to keep her family together. (Good and bad, sickness and health). Be mad at Bill for being a dog… but don’t blame Hill for wanting to save her marriage.
