The style is modern, utilitarian, comfortable, and fit for daily use. It’s not lowbrow like Lazy Boy and Jerome’s. And it’s not formal like Ethan Allen (I hear that Ehan Allen makes the majority of their furniture in USA as well).
Design Within Reach carries furniture from American manufacturers such as Knoll and Herman Miller.
PS: I’m not a buy-American kinda guy. But when the design is special, the quality is good, at a reasonable price, I’m all for supporting American manufacturers.[/quote]
I know you’re not a “buy American” kind of guy, and was ribbing you a bit. 😉
If Ethan Allen still makes furniture like they used to, it’s good stuff. I have a set that my parents bought (used) from our neighbor back in the early 70s, so it was already old at the time. Everything is still holding up exceptionally well, and it’s been moved many times over the years.
