However, I believe that Great Men can still be great even if they cheated. What’s the big deal?
Napoleon had many mistresses. So what?
I really don’t care if Bill Clinton cheated because he’s a liberal so he’s perfectly entitled to have extramarital affairs, if he wishes. It’s none of our business.
I enjoy more the salacious stories about conservative men who cheat — people like Larry Craig and Newt Gingrich.
John Boehner might want to have sex with a hot woman other than his wife. But he can’t because of his position. So he lives in frustration and denial.
I personally don’t like the word “cheat” because it implies something bad. For all we know, Hillary couldn’t care less who Bill sleeps with. But our society is just hypocritical about such matters. The French are much more well-adjusted.
Sarkozy is pretty ugly, but he’s powerful. Carla Bruni is beautiful and she married him because of that and she admitted it. It’s been a good marriage for both of them. All the more power to them.[/quote]
Brian,
If you ever get married and decide that you “don’t care” if your wife (and mother of your children) sleeps around with other men (and you can stay home to take care of the kids while she does it, okay?), let us know.
Oh, don’t forget that she will be spending the family’s money on hotel rooms, dining expenses and gifts for her “friends.”
Until then, realize that cheating is NOT a victimless act. Families are destroyed as a result of cheating, and STDs are spread to innocent people (including children).
Feel free to live the swinging lifestyle that you claim to hold so dear, but it’s a bit odd that you try to speak for and about people who are married…when you have no idea what it’s all about.
