brian, the most important three things when hunting for RE to buy are knowledge of the area, preferably `intimate,’ (and relevant tracts, if applicable), price and terms.
If you have intimate knowledge of a particular area (as a native or long-time San Diegan does), and your location parameters are narrowed down, it won’t take that long to find a suitable property, barring any severe inventory shortages.
And just because a particular property that you are interested in purchasing is not currently listed for sale in no way means the owner won’t sell it to you.
As sdr stated earlier, it’s a free country. You have the choice.
