I can’t even count the number of times my kid who lives in SF has bought furn., airline tix, ski-lift tix, concert tix (bought & sold),
Are airline tickets assignable? I’m curious how she managed that.
Yes, briansd1, SW Rapid Rewards are assignable (if the earner does the assigning) as well as credit card points towards airline tix (American and Delta). Again, the earner must do the booking and assigning.
In the old days before 9/11, in responding to ads in the reader or U/T or just someone I knew from work, I could easily buy RR vouchers from frequent travelers w/i CA (say once week to Sacramento [state gov. wkr]). Every 9th RT is free. In those days they were paper (issued in the mail) and I would just buy it in their name and fly in their name, even if they were a different sex than me – lol. I had two parties within blocks of me that would accumulate these vouchers and sell them to me – regularly. I saved a bundle by buying their unneeded vouchers (incl. drink tix for free ;=) The “rules” said no selling, but if asked, they would just say I was a friend or “relative” whom they “gave” it to. SWA just dismissed this practice with a wink and a nod ;=) as they didn’t lose anything from it.
