As somebody who grew up in Indiana, I found this comment somewhat insulting at first read. There are a lot of good people in Indiana, and for the most part I find them a hell of a lot less superficial than people around here.
With that said, however, the only places I could live in Indiana without being bored to tears are Bloomington and certain northern suburbs of Indianapolis. I probably could live around West Lafayette, only because I am a Purdue alum and could immerse myself in their sports teams and whatnot, but it really isn’t any great shakes.
And out of a high school of fewer than 700 students in my days, I’d bet that somewhere between 50-100 have been in varying levels of trouble due to meth.
