You are also reverting to form in pillorying the Republicans while ignoring that the Dems did actually have a supermajority in the Senate until Scott Brown’s election.
Also, given Pelosi’s “drain the swamp” remark following the Abramoff scandal, it is the height of hypocrisy to ignore Rangel’s many ethical lapses. This underscores the fundamental problem with Congress: They’re a group of corrupt incompetents. Evan Bayh’s parting shot about an inability to serve the people may have been somewhat self-serving, but it was also correct. The stench emanates from both sides of the aisle.
