BG I think everyone has different needs as a buyer. Some buyers want a very specific realtor who has pinpoint knowledge of a very granular area. Some buyers do alot of legwork on thier own. Some are first timers and need alot of handholding. Some people only want rebates or credits back from thier agents. The point is that there are alot of different needs for alot of different buyers. I am about to close an escrow for a client who was with Redfin. These people had initially called to work with me only because of my rebate. They said that it was between me and Redfin and decided to try Redfin because they were a large company.
They came back to me because they were in a previous escrow that crashed and burned with Redfin. The property that they were in escrow in had actually claimed to have a much larger lot then what was the legal lot size. They had in fact fenced in several thousand feet of open space, about 1/3 of the lot. Basically Redfin did not even bother to look at the lot boundaries and took them for granted.
