BG: I grew up on Silicon Valley and my dad worked in Palo Alto. They don’t call Santa Clara county “The Fortress” without reason.
My dad bought the house I grew up in (Los Altos) in 1966 for $22k (which was considered expensive) and sold it when he retired in 1989 for almost $800k. That same house recently sold for about $1.5MM. Unbelievable, but that’s the RBA (Real Bay Area) for ya!
