I have the shcool year 2011-2012 in mind. I would think that yes, I can choice from my current place – which is very close to Doyle elementary/park, BTW – choice in other UC elemenary like Spreckels and Curie. I don’t have to own a house to choice in, do I? If we don’t get those, the kid will automatically go to Doyle based on current address, if we stay put. But if the kid gets choiced in Curie, then we have options – continue to rent, or buy in UC/Clairemont/LJ (reasonable commute) – all of which are close enough to school too. I wouldn’t buy something too far from school (> 10-15′ drive). The schools will be not much off from our commute to work.
