I was just back on sdlookup in several zip codes today. Your tongue-in-cheek statement supports my argument that there is plenty of inventory out there to buy. This leads me to the conclusion that buyers who are complaining about lack of inventory are either too picky and/or want to buy into an area at a deeper discount than the sellers in it are willing or able to sell at.
There are areas in SD County for buyers in ALL price ranges. The caveat is that a prospective buyer has to be willing to accept what is on offer in their price range. The days of buying RE which is a few notches up one’s actual current “station in life” are gone.[/quote]
Sure, and if you look in 92126, you’ll see the first dozen or so listings are trailer park trash mobile homes (literally)..
And the ones that are decently priced are all marked contingent.
Which brings me to the next sort of analogy…There’s a lot of women and men out there too, but you probably don’t want anything to do with them too. And the good women and men out there that are not excessively “overpriced” (by being overbearing) are probably mostly taken off the market once they go on the market…
Bad available inventory is as useful as no inventory. Unless, just like in relationship, one is so desperate and willing to setting for anyone or anything.
What’s more disturbing if you look at closings in 92126… The list is pretty long..
