Back in the day, appliances actually lasted for awhile. Nowadays, since they don’t last long, I always go with the lowest price with minimal bells and whistles. Why spend $800 on an appliance that is going to break in a few years, when you can spend $500 for it to do the same thing.
I had a Pioneer stereo for many years, and eventually it broke. I bought another one, and it lasted 1 year. Called Pioneer and they could care less. Name brand means nothing anymore. On the other hand, I have a generic $20 DVD player that is on it’s 2nd year with no problems. Go figure.
