As someone who lives in Del Mar and spends most of the day ferrying kids around, I agree that the fair traffic seems WAY worse this year. I don’t know if it’s the traffic management people who aren’t doing an effective job, or if attendance has greatly increased (or maybe both), but it seems almost impossible to go anywhere after 10 a.m. these days. We were just saying we feel a bit trapped.
Humidity – not so much. Must have been different in the fairgrounds because, within a mile from there, we’ve had nice cool breezes and crisp night air (warmer weather, but not too hot) all week.
I never thought I’d say this, but I actually find myself kind of looking forward to race season, only because it will mean the end of the fair.
Hate to gripe about it b/c I know we’re lucky to live anywhere around San Diego, where the livin’ is pretty darn easy.
