As a local to the area (I live in south UC, across the canyon from where the trolley station would be at UTC mall.) I’m THRILLED with the idea.

IMO the best route it the yellow one – since it uses existing tracks (or right of ways) for most of the route. As a taxpayer, lets keep the costs as low as possible.
The path through Clairemont looks pretty straightforward – folks in Bay Ho/Bay Park are already used to MORE noise from freeway, train, etc. There’s only divergence on the paths north of 52.
Like I said – I live in the area and think it’s awesome!
