That’s not necessarily true. There are some cars that have both value and rarity that don’t cost an arm and a leg. The Subaru Legacy GT and Pontiac G8 GXP are a couple that immediately come to mind.
In these cases the weak point may be value in that for the price points there are other options available that may offer slightly more, but it all depends how much rarity is worth to you.
